Dale City Farmers Market 

Dale City Farmers Market has an summer farmers market as well as a winters farmers market. There are always great vendors there. I personally love the fresh bread they are selling there and of course in the summer all the fresh fruits and vegetables.

The Dale City Farmers is located at the corner of Minniville Rd and Dale Blvd, at the Dale City Commuter Lot right behind Comcast. 


The Dale City Farmers market is held every Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm. 


Lake Ridge Farmers Market


The Lake Ridge Farmers market is relatively new and is held every Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm. June through November. The Lake Ridge Farmers Market is held in the Lake Ridge Parks & Recreations Association parking lot at 12619 Oakwood Dr. Woodbridge VA 22192.

Always an excellent question. How much home can I really afford? My answer is first of all make application with a lender to determine how much you qualify for. You can apply online at: www.coconnell.com

So now that you have determined how much you qualify for you will have to find out for yourself or with the lender how much mortgage payment you are comfortable with. I normally recommend taking a look at your overall finances. How much money do you currently spend on rent and using this as a general guideline. Personally I love going out, going on vacation and all these fun things. This tells me how much mortgage payment I am comfortable with. I never want to overextend myself, but that’s me and I have been told that fiscally I am a bit conservative. So you have to find out for yourself what monthly payments you are comfortable with, and don’t forget the HOA payments, if you decide to purchase in an HOA. Once you know what amount you are comfortable with take it from there. Ask the lender to figure out how much house you can afford based on what you want your monthly payment to be.

Nothing easier then that correct?

Once all the finances are squared away there is nothing from stopping you to find your dream home.

What a great question and something I get asked all the time from home buyers that are not familiar with the area. With the recent modification they made to HOV lanes the commute from Woodbridge to DC should have improved even further.

Commuters have currently several options to getting back and forth from Woodbridge VA to the Nations Capital. 


Car: You can drive by yourself and either use the regular lanes on I95 or now you can also pay to using the HOV lanes which will guarantee a faster ride into the City. Or you can select to pick up sluggers or you can slug yourself. If you are picking up sluggers or have 3 people in the car you do not have to pay the HOV tolls. 


Slugging: Slugging is a very unique form of transportation know in the Northern Virginia / DC area. Slugging is essentially an organized form of hitch hiking. Lines are forming at commuter lots or on predetermined locations in DC for riders to picking up passengers that are needing to go to DC or back from DC to Woodbridge VA. This will allow the drivers to use the HOV lanes without having to pay and the riders get a free ride into DC. A win win situation for everyone. 


Train/VRE: There several VRE stops in the Woodbridge VA area. The VRE or Virginia Railway Express takes riders from any of the local VRE stops to Union Station in Washington DC.

Every year again the home owner at 15615 Bushey Drive off Cardinal Drive put up a wonderful holiday light show in Woodbridge VA. When I went there the other day Santa handed out candy canes and it was all around a great time. The lights are simply great.

Just watch the video as we drive through the North Pole display. When I got there spontaneously the other night there were so many visitors. There was a long line of cars waiting to drive through to see the lights. This is a really great thing to go visit with your kids or simply take your partner on a date night. It is a lovely display.

It seems like every year I go to see the Holiday Light show at 15615 Bushey Drive they are outdoing themselves from the previous season. Just watch the video to see for yourself, but please know the video doesn’t do this great display justice. You have to actually see it in person to get the full pictures. It is so much better in person.
